SDGs QUEST Mirai Koshien

MIRARTH HOLDINGS is an official sponsor of the "SDGs QUEST Mirai Koshien."
The "SDGs QUEST Mirai Koshien" is a competition where high school students explore the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to envision and take action toward a sustainable future for the planet, generate ideas for solving social issues, and present their action ideas. Starting in the Hokkaido and Kansai areas in 2019, the numbers of regions and  participants have continued to expand each year. In FY2024, more than 11,000 high school students across 23 areas (40 prefectures) participated.

In FY 2025, 22 teams that won the top prize in each regional competition in FY2024 gathered at the Sustainability Dome at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, for the "SDGs QUEST Mirai Koshien Future Session 2025." Under the theme "Beyond 2030," participants discussed their visions for the future from the three perspectives of  "People," "Planet," and “Prosperity,” which are among the core principles of Agenda 2030.
Among the actions presented, the company presents the “MIRARTH Award” to ideas that strongly resonate with our Purpose "To design sustainable environments for a happier future for both people and our planet." In FY2025, the MIRARTH Award was presented to the action plan of Akita Prefectural Omagari Agricultural High School, "SustainaW(ble) —2031, Leaving No People or Communities Behind."
Furthermore, to promote and raise awareness of award-winning actions, the company published the "2030 Exploration Newspaper," introducing action ideas of the teams that received the Grand Prize and Excellence Award in each region.

Takara Leben Presents SDGs Koshien 2025

Takara Leben is a special sponsor of the "Takara Leben Presents SDGs Koshien 2025—High School Student Action Project," a competition where high school students explore the SDGs.
The purpose of this competition is to foster "creators of a sustainable society" as described in the new National Curriculum Guidelines, by having students research regional issues aimed at achieving the SDGs, thereby fostering the ability to identify issues and take action to solve them. In addition, as a practical opportunity for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), the project aims to provide hands-on experiences that enhance participants’ communication skills, while developing the ability to think while respecting diverse values and the environment through interaction with local communities and peers.

High school students work as teams toward achieving 17 SDGs, selecting issues and themes they want to solve in their local communities and living environments. The students then present their activities and results through videos and presentation materials.
Although the competition originally started for students in Ehime Prefecture, the application area was expanded nationwide from the 2025 competition. At the networking event and final competition held in August, 14 teams comprising 71 high school students that advanced through the preliminaries participated. In the final round, each participating team delivered a 10-minute presentation, and as a result of the judging, the Grand Prix was awarded to the project “What We Can Do to Realize Sustainable Fashion” by the Ethical Club of Tokushima Prefectural Naka High School. In addition, the company presented the "Takara Leben Award" to the "Oita-Kochi Exchange Team" of Ehime Prefectural Uwajima Higashi High School for its project "Research on Sustainable Community Development Through Interactions with High Schools from Other Prefectures and PR Activities for the JR Yodo Line."

Going forward, with the aim of fostering "creators of a sustainable society" envisioned in the new National Curriculum Guidelines, the company will continue to create opportunities for young people, who will lead the next generation, to explore local issues toward achieving the SDGs, helping them develop the ability to identify challenges and take action to solve them.
