What is SDGs QUEST Mirai Koshien?

"SDGs QUEST Mirai Koshien" is a nationwide inquiry-based action contest in which high school students proactively explore environmental issues such as climate change, ecosystems, and water resources, as well as social issues such as poverty, food, social disparity, and ethical consumption, and work as teams to come up with solutions, and then present and award awards. In order to nurture the "leaders of a Sustainability society" described in the new Course of Study, we aim to create opportunities to encourage action to solve social issues based on the SDGs.
This initiative started in the Hokkaido and Kansai areas in 2019, and the host area and the scale of participants have continued to expand year by year, and in FY2024, a total of 11,041 students and 2,741 teams of high school students from 23 areas (40 prefectures) participated. This year, in addition to the "National Exchange Meeting" to be held in June, the "SDGs QUEST Mirai Koshien Future Session 2025" will be held in October. We will discuss our vision for the future from these three perspectives.

Purpose of sponsoring this activity

"SDGs QUEST Mirai Koshien" is an initiative that is in line with the Group's "Our Purpose" "To design sustainable environments for a happier future for both people and our planet." and believes that it can contribute to the development of "leaders of a Sustainability society", and we will sponsor the "SDGs QUEST Mirai Koshien Metropolitan Area Convention" in FY2022, and from FY2023 we will be "SDGs QUEST We are co-sponsoring as an official sponsor of "Mirai Koshien".
Last year, as a corporate award, Okinawa Prefectural Chatan High School and Gushigawa High School's "Team Sarabungee!" action plan "MC is a high school student! Showa Retro Shimakutoba Singing Voice Cafe" was presented with the "MIRARTH Award". Our efforts to pass on the endangered language "Shimakutoba" to the next generation and the idea of deepening relationships with local communities as a clue to solving various social problems that occur in a "disconnected society" have a high affinity with our long-term vision "Be the Takara of the community.", and we sympathized with our desire to inherit local culture and our efforts to connect people in the region.
The Group will continue to support the young people who will lead the future, contribute to solving issues in each region, and promote initiatives for the realization of a Sustainability society.

Publication of the 2030 Research Newspaper

We are publishing the "2030 Research Newspaper", a public relations medium to raise awareness of Mirai Koshien's winning actions, for schools in the area where the event will be held in 2025. The "2030 Research Newspaper" introduces the action ideas of the best and best-winning teams from the tournaments held in each area in 2024, with the aim of encouraging high school students to participate in the tournament and serving as a reference for generating ideas.
In addition, teachers can use the action ideas of high school students from the same age as familiar examples for achieving the SDGs when conducting inquiry-based learning at school.
