[MIRARTH Asset Management] Signs Comprehensive Collaboration Agreement with Hokkaido Bunkyo University - Signing ceremony held on-site, toward Realizing a Decarbonized Society-

We are pleased to announce that MIRARTH Asset Management Inc. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Takehiko Kusajima), a group company of MIRARTH HOLDINGS, Inc. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Kazuichi Shimada), has concluded a comprehensive collaboration agreement with Hokkaido Bunkyo University (Location: Eniwa City, Hokkaido; President: Toshihiro Watanabe) to collaborate on business by utilizing their technologies and knowledge related to power generation and storage.
We would also like to inform you that a signing ceremony to mark the conclusion of the comprehensive partnership agreement was held on March 25th.

Relationship between MIRARTH Asset Management and Hokkaido Bunkyo University

MIRARTH Asset Management is an asset management company of MIRARTH Holdings (Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market) that was established in October 2013 for the purpose of managing the assets of funds related to MIRARTH HOLDINGS energy power generation projects, focusing on the important role that this business plays in Japan's energy policy and the room for development of this business.
The company's vision is to "We are cultivating new financial asset opportunities." It aims to contribute to the realization of a carbon-neutral society by structuring products based on SDGs and ESG finance, and to pursue the potential of renewable energy and real estate through financial securitization using a variety of schemes. Hokkaido Bunkyo University is planning to install a solar power generation facility on its campus. The installation of this solar power generation facility is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 42 tons per year, with an annual generating capacity of 1.08 million kWh. The university aims to use this solar power generation facility to reduce CO2 emissions during normal operation, as well as to supply electricity to evacuated local residents in the event of a disaster. This project has been evaluated as a model case by the Ministry of the Environment.

The signing ceremony

The signing ceremony was held at Hokkaido Bunkyo University on March 25th. President Kusajima of MIRARTH Asset Management stated, "We are very pleased to have been able to enter into a comprehensive partnership agreement with Hokkaido Bunkyo University, utilizing our company's technology and knowledge in power generation and storage. We aim to pursue the potential of renewable energy by structuring products through our SDGs and ESG finance, and we would like to use this comprehensive partnership agreement as an opportunity to contribute to building a decarbonized society together with Hokkaido Bunkyo University. Furthermore, Hokkaido Bunkyo University President Toshihiro Watanabe commented, "At Tsuruoka Gakuen Hokkaido Bunkyo University, in keeping with the spirit of our founder, Shintaro Tsuruoka Toshi, who established the Hokkaido Women's Nutrition School to develop human resources during the war, we aim to build a 'Sustainability world' as the most important thing from now on, and we would like to utilize this in our school education.
By generating renewable energy through solar power generation facilities, we can reduce the burden on the environment and serve as a disaster prevention base. In addition, by making this initiative visible, we can work on disaster prevention together with the local community, while also raising students' awareness of sustainability and utilizing it in environmental education, which is the significance of this initiative as a university.

Our Group's Environmental Initiatives

Our group regards sustainability initiatives as an important strategy for medium- to long-term growth, and has set "active response to ESG (environment, society, and governance)" as a part of our medium-term management plan.
